Fishing
The River Erne has some of the finest Pike and Course Fishing in Ireland. Each house in Riverrun has access to its own private jetty. If owners don't have their own boat, rentals are available from the International Fishing Centre located beside the estate. There is also tackle hire and full service for any fishing requirements.
However, you don’t even need a boat if you fancy giving it a go - people are catching fish right off the moorings in front of the houses. The area around Belturbet is world renowned for its coarse fishing. The entire North West region offers one of the greatest varieties in Ireland for the keen angler, seeking the tranquility to enjoy this ancient sport.
For coarse fishing, the waters can be fished all year round. The rivers and lakes around the county hold good stocks of Bream, Trudd, Roach, Pike, Perch and Trench and there are also plenty of opportunities for game fishing for brown trout.
There are also a number of annual festivals held throughout the county with angling as a central theme, the main one being the Festival of the Erne in Belturbet, held annually at the end of July.
