
Anglers are well served in this region, having a choice of over 35 kilometres of rivers, much of this is trout fishing, divided into three river sections on the Larger Isel (7) with a further 4.7 km on the small Isel (8) near to Virgen and 14 km on the Tauernbach (9). There are three dominant species, the brown trout, rainbows and grayling with size limits 30, 35, 45 cm respectively. Dry flies, wet flies, nymphs and streamers with barbless hooks, are legal lures. No jigs are allowed. Wading on rivers and streams is forbidden, except when crossing to fish the opposite bank.
